Udham Singh

When we talk about the martyrs, Udham Singh's name rolls on our tongue quickly .
He was born on 26 Dec. 1899 in Sunam Punjab.The name of father was Mr.Tehal Singh.And the name of his mother was Mrs.Narayan Kaur.His parents died ,when he was a child . So he along with his brother,Mr.Sadhu Singh ,spent his child-hood in an orphanage in Amritsar.
The massacre of Jalianwala Bagh put a great impression on his heart. He felt very sorry for the people who had been Killed . He took a vow to kill Michael O'Dyer at any cost.
In 1940,he got a chance for it,when he saw Michael O'Dyer coming after attending a meeting in London. Udham Singh brought out his pistol and he armed at him.The pistol went off and Michael O'Dyer died. Udham Singh was hanged on 12 June,1940.He will ever be remembered as a great martyr.
